hellsing infographic poster

OBJECTIVE

For this project, I was to create an 11x14-inch infographic portrait. The chosen character was Alucard from the series Hellsing. The information displayed is a timeline of the villains being defeated by the main character: Alucard.

MEANING & INSPIRATION

For my illustration, I wanted to create something with high energy as a challenge and also to try and create something visually appealing. I knew immediately that I wanted the action line of a gun firing to be a timeline, and I went through a few ideas before landing at the final piece. Hellsing had two anime adaptations (the most recent one being the most popular), however the original anime had a very interesting jazz soundtrack. It was a blend of rock and jazz with a gothic undertone to it. And while most fans prefer Hellsing Ultimate (the later adaption), the soundtrack of the original Hellsing series was the fan favorite—especially the opening theme: “A World without Logos.” So, I wanted to base the overall style and color scheme on Jazz Posters. Red is Alucard’s color, so I found some great references to construct my infographic!
